Where to stay:
On Fraser we stay on the beach, just a few miles up from Eurong. From there, it’s a great drive up to all the attractions and a perfect spot to set up camp in the dunes. We got heaps of eugaries and tasty fish, right out in front of the camp. With our tents right on the beach, there’s not a more beautiful outlook available for afternoon drinks and a bbq. Of course, 4wd access is the only way to get there, via Inskip Point past Rainbow Beach, Queensland. The government strives to protect the wildlife of Fraser Island, and prohibits open fires, pets and camping in non-designated areas.
Of all the places we’ve visited in Australia, this has to be one of the most picturesque and unique around.
