Last weekend we flew to Penang in Malaysia for the Easter long weekend. The old part of Penang is called George Town and it has lots of markets, a food culture and lots of street art to walk around to see. We stayed at the Museum Hotel and it was fantastic – an old shophouse that has been renovated into a stylish hotel. The staff were really friendly and made plans for us with what to do, where to eat and how to get around.
We enjoyed the best Indian food we’d ever had at Kapitan – naans, tandoori, curries, biryani, everything was delicious! It was actually so good we went back for lunch on Sunday, even though we had it for dinner the night before! There were lots of things to see over a weekend, including the funicular up Penang Hill, checking out the fishing piers and beach, and going on the street art self-guided tour.
